Wellness & Support Centre expands services
MDHS is developing and expanding the services on offer from the Wellness & Support Centre.
The newest addition to the Wellness Centre program is a Nurse led clinic conducted by Community Health Nurses on Tuesday afternoons. The clinic will provide blood pressure checks, diabetes and general health checks as well as information and referrals to our smoking cessation programs.
In addition, the Wellness & Support Centre is open each weekday morning between 9.30 am to 12.00pm for members of the community to ‘drop in’ to obtain information, advice and assistance regarding the services provided related to chronic illness, or just to find out more about the programs and activities provided by MDHS.
Activities currently conducted in the Wellness Centre include Tai Chi, Mindfulness and Meditation, Strength Training, Art therapy, Diabetes education and review and counselling.
Officially opened in September by Premier Daniel Andrews, the Wellness & Support Centre is a place for information, support, health programs and activities to assist individuals and their carers along their journey from diagnosis to achieve their best possible health outcomes.
