Our Facilities

Quality Healthcare in Modern Facilities

As MDHS grows and expands its services, its campuses and facilities are continually upgraded and improved. Ongoing local & State Government investment in our services ensures that we can provide high-quality healthcare in modern, fit-for-purpose facilities.

In 2021, the Victorian Government announced a $94.8 million investment in MDHS with our new facility, expected to be completed by late 2024. It will provide new birthing suites, an urgent care centre, a 32-bed inpatient unit, two operating theatres and recovery spaces, and a day medical centre with imaging and pathology services.

Maryborough Campus

The Maryborough Campus is the hub of healthcare for our surrounding communities. Acute care, community services and medical imaging are located at Maryborough. Find out more about our services here.

Amherst Ward is a 28-bed inpatient unit that is equipped to support the care of patients with medical, acute, surgical, palliative and maternity related presentations.

Wattle Rise

Our residential care facility, Wattle Rise, is a 45-bed modern facility that provides high-quality care based on the Montessori Philosophy of care.

Nourished@MDHS Cafe

The Nourished@MDHS Cafe is located inside our Maryborough campus and provides a wide range of takeaway food, including sandwiches/rolls, toasted focaccias, cakes, slices, salads, casseroles and meals made to order. The Café is open between 8.30 am and 3.00 pm, Monday to Friday.

COIL & The Inspired Learning Space

In 2018, MDHS opened the Centre of Inspired Learning (COIL), a purpose-built training centre that allows nursing students to undertake a Diploma of Nursing through Bendigo Kangan Institute, right here in Maryborough. COIL is equipped with all the resources required to train students in a simulated hospital environment. The Learning Space features state-of-the-art technology that allows learning to be undertaken virtually.

Student Accommodation Centre

Our new student accommodation facility, which opened in January 2023, provides a comfortable and convenient place for healthcare students to stay in Maryborough while undertaking training and work placements.

The contemporary accommodation hub features 20 single bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, along with communal living, kitchen, dining areas and landscaped gardens. The $4 million project was funded by the Victorian Government’s Regional Health Infrastructure fund.
