As we enter the final phase of the Maryborough Hospital redevelopment, exciting progress continues on site.
These works will involve the removal of the old Urgent Care Centre and other buildings to reveal the original 1860s hospital façade. They will also improve access to the main entrance with a large turning circle, more accessible parking and a pedestrian ramp.
Dorevitch Pathology on the move
To make way for these changes services at Dorevitch Pathology will move to the former inpatient unit (Amherst Ward) in the old hospital from Monday 2 June.
How to access pathology services
- Enter via the rear doors to the old hospital.
- Dorevitch Pathology operating hours are from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
- The rear doors will open to public from 7.30 am on week days for early arrivals.
- There is no direct access from the new Maryborough and District Hospital.
- Use footpath alongside Clarendon Medical Centre and new hospital car park off Neill Street,
then take the stairs. - For patients with mobility challenges, limited short stay disabled parking and drop-off is
available at the rear of the old hospital. - For vehicle access, use the back-of-house entry from Neill Street (next to Nightingale Clinic).
- Signage will help patients find their way.
Parking and safety
- The rear car park serves fleet and accessible parking for pathology.
- Please drive slowly and watch for pedestrians and turning vehicles.
- Off-street parking is available in new car park and north end of precinct.
