Change in access to Urgent Care due to construction

Friday 6th September, 2024

Maryborough District Health Service (MDHS) advises there will be a change to the access to the Urgent Care Centre (UCC) at Maryborough Hospital from Monday 9 September.

The adjustment is necessary due to the ongoing construction of the new hospital building.

Access to the UCC will be limited to one lane, reserved for ambulance entry and drop-off of vulnerable UCC patients only.

Vehicles can still enter from Clarendon Street but must give way to exiting traffic. A new vehicle give way bay is located at the driveway entry point from Clarendon Street.

Additional ambulance parking will be available in the new car park at the rear of the hospital, ensuring priority access for emergency vehicles.

The health service is urging medical imaging patients to park in nearby parking zones. Access via the pedestrian access ramp remains unaffected.

These changes are expected to be in place until the new hospital is complete.

Thank you for your understanding while we build a bigger and better hospital for our community.
