Residential Care

Live with purpose, choice & comfort

MDHS provides residential aged care in our three modern campuses at Wattle Rise (Maryborough), Avoca and Dunolly.

We take pride in the care and support we provide to our residents, families and carers.

Our residential communities are accredited by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and have an efficient quality governance framework to ensure the highest quality of resident-focused care. We also abide by the Conduct of Conduct for Aged Care to help ensure safe, respectful and quality care for older Australians.

My Aged Care is a good starting point to find out how to access Australian Government-funded aged care services. This may include help at home, in short-term or respite care, or in a residential aged care home, depending on the level of support needed.

Wattle Rise Maryborough

Wattle Rise comprises 45 beds that provide high-level care to members of our community who require expert nursing and supportive care. Wattle Rise is the perfect size for residents to get to know everyone and form connections and friendships. Open and welcoming, the building features skylights throughout that provide an abundance of natural light and large windows that look out into secure courtyard areas and gardens.

Residents are cared for by compassionate, qualified nursing staff with a registered nurse on every shift. The facility offers single rooms, each with a private ensuite.

All our facilities have height-adjustable electric beds, and each bedside area, bathroom and lounge area has access to the nurse call bell should staff assistance be required.

For more information please contact Maryborough Residential Community on telephone 5461 0341 or email.

Avoca Residential Community

Located in the picturesque community of Avoca, this facility has 19 high care beds and the hostel, or low care facility, has ten beds. Equipped with modern features and high-quality equipment, the Avoca Residential Community provides excellent care for its residents and respite for people requiring support away from their home environment. The home is divided into two wings, each with its own comfortable living spaces for a homely feel.

Our team consists of compassionate, qualified staff. Every shift has at least two registered nurses rostered, ensuring every resident receives the best quality care.

For more information, please contact Avoca Residential Community on telephone 5465 1202 or email.

Dunolly Residential Community

We are a small community with 19 single rooms, located 20 minutes from Maryborough with surrounding bushland and beautiful gardens. Like all our facilities, this home is spacious, light and bright with an open plan design. It features modern amenities and equipment, with excellent meals and activities undertaken in our communal living areas.

For more information please contact Dunolly Residential Community on telephone 5468 2900 or email.

Respite Care

Respite provides short term care in a residential care facility, on a planned or an emergency basis, for aged care residents living in the community. It is a temporary stay (commonly two weeks) in an aged care facility for someone who requires support.

Respite provides the carer and the person being cared for with “time out”. If you need a break or your carer needs time for a holiday or time out for stress or illness, or any other reason, respite beds are available at MDHS. Some family members also use residential respite to trial the residential community if they are considering long term care.

More information is available by contacting the Avoca campus on 5465 1200 or via email.
