Meet Scott – Connecting community to GREAT care
Scott’s journey in healthcare is nothing short of inspiring.
Joining our MDHS family in July 2024, he brought with him over 32 years of experience from East Wimmera Health Service (EWHS).
His journey began in a cleaning role but Scott’s ambition led him to embark on a chef’s apprenticeship, ultimately rising to the position of head chef. Later, he embraced the newly created role of Support Services Manager, which he held for two decades before transitioning to Quality & Risk Manager.
His journey showcases an incredible commitment to healthcare and a passion for making a real difference in people’s lives.
Scott’s expertise in infection prevention control, food safety, and quality and risk ensures compliance in the existing and new hospital, providing GREAT care to the community.
Scott thrives in a structured healthcare environment and values the close-knit community that rural health provides.
His love for aged care shines through in his dedication to creating a homelike atmosphere for residents, ensuring they receive high quality, personalised care that truly makes a difference.
Scott describes working at MDHS as refreshing and diverse, appreciating the support of his new teammates. His award for Leadership at our 2024 Great People Awards not only recognised his hard work but affirmed his belief in teamwork and treating others with respect.
Outside of work, Scott stays active with fitness routines and contributes to his community as a Board Director for the Bendigo Bank and as president of district and local swimming clubs. He is also an active member of the St Arnaud football and Netball cub.
He draws inspiration from all senior leaders and mentors, highlighting Pat Croft – EWHS Director Of Clinical Services, Trevor Adem – EWHS CEO, Kate Lamont – Director of Thrive Aged Care and Michelle Harcourt – Harcourt Aged Care Consultant. These inspiring individuals have significantly influenced his career and leadership style. Scott also is grateful for the many opportunities East Wimmera Health Service has provided him.
Thank you, Scott, for your commitment to excellence and for embodying the MDHS values of Genuine Respect, Excellence, Accountability and Togetherness. Your leadership and passion make a tremendous impact on your team and the community.
