Join a community advisory committee to help shape local health services
Do you want to health shape your local health services?
Maryborough District Health Service (MDHS) is inviting community members to join its Community Advisory Committee (CAC).
MDHS is seeking eight community advisors to form a diverse and inclusive committee.
The Community Advisory Committee will meet once every two months to provide input into service planning, operations and patient experience.
“Our long-term vision is to change health outcomes in our region, in partnership with our community,” said Nickola Allan, Chief Executive Officer, MDHS.
“This is a unique opportunity for residents, carers, patients, volunteers and community group members to contribute to the future of healthcare in our region.
“We’re building a diverse team of advisors who can contribute valuable perspectives to our work and that goal.
“Your perspective may come from lived experience, professional expertise or strong local connections,” she said.
The CAC is made up of community advisors, members of the MDHS Leadership Team and Board. Together, they advise on community needs, service development and quality improvement.
Members also help co-design information and resources, and support the health service in meeting national standards for partnering with consumers.
If you have an interest in best practice care, MDHS is also recruiting community advisors for other committees. These include the Best Care Committee and Clinical Governance Committee, which focus on clinical performance and service operations.
“Whether you’re passionate about improving the patient experience or want to represent your community’s voice, we encourage you to get involved,” said Mrs Allan.
