Join us and take action to help end gender-based violence

Tuesday 25th November, 2025

Central Goldfields Shire residents are encouraged to come together, show support and take a positive step towards ending gender-based violence by joining a community walk on Wednesday 10 December.

The walk welcomes people of all ages and abilities to come together for respect and equality as part of the local 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign. No RSVPs are required—residents are encouraged to turn up on the day, wear orange, and walk in solidarity.

“The walk is an easy yet meaningful way for locals to get involved. Everyone is welcome, and every step counts,” said Debbie Rogers, Acting CEO, Maryborough District Health Service.

“By walking together, we send a clear message that our community values safety, respect and inclusion. One small action can help spark broader change.

“Joining the walk shows support not just for the campaign, but for everyone in our community affected by gender-based violence,” said Ms Rogers.
