MDHS invites graduate nurses to explore career pathways.
Maryborough District Health Service (MDHS) will host a Graduate Nurse Open Day on Thursday 4 June, providing nursing graduates and healthcare professionals with the opportunity to learn more about starting their careers in rural health.
The event will provide future nurses with an opportunity to learn more about graduate pathways at MDHS, meet clinical and education staff and tour MDHS facilities.
MDHS supports both Bachelor of Nursing graduates and Diploma of nursing graduates through structured transition programs focused on building confidence, clinical capability and career development in a supportive rural health setting.
Attendees will learn about:
- clinical rotations across inpatient, urgent care, theatre, aged care and community nursing
- one-on-one support from experienced nurses and mentors
- education and development opportunities through the Learning, Education and Development (LEAD) team
- funded study opportunities and simulation training
- career pathways within rural and regional healthcare.
Tours of the hospital and student accommodation will run every 30 minutes throughout the event.
MDHS offers graduates the chance to build confidence quickly through hands-on experience, meaningful patient relationships and exposure to a broad scope of clinical care all within a supportive and close-knit team environment.
“The open day provides an opportunity for graduates to experience the benefits of starting their career in a rural health service.
“Graduate nurses at MDHS are supported to learn, grow and develop across a diverse range of clinical areas while being part of a connected and collaborative team,” said Debbie Rogers, Executive Director of Care, Chief Nurse and Midwife, MDHS.
Located between Ballarat and Bendigo, MDHS provides graduates with the opportunity to enjoy country living while building strong clinical skills in a modern and growing rural health service.
