Prepare for parenthood with childbirth education class
Are you expecting a baby? Join us for a one-day childbirth education session designed to help you feel confident and prepared for the incredible journey ahead.
Led by an experienced midwife from Maryborough District Health Service (MDHS), the class will provide practical insights into pregnancy, labour, birth and the early parenting journey.
It’s ideal for first-time parents and a great refresher for those adding to their family.
Midwife Group Practice Midwife Anna Bianchi delivers the session including information on:
- Understanding late pregnancy, including what’s normal and common conditions
- Labour and birth basics from early labour to assisted births like caesareans
- Strategies for managing labour and pain
- What to expect after birth and in the first few days
- Breastfeeding support and practical tips
Early Parenting Practitioner Kristen Lummis from Central Goldfields Shire Council will also be there to provide information and resources on services for families.
“This class is a wonderful opportunity for parents-to-be to gain valuable knowledge and feel supported as they prepare to welcome their baby,” said Penelope Browne, Women and Children’s Services Manager, Maryborough District Health Service.
“We’re here to provide guidance every step of the way. Women, partners and support people are all welcome,” said Ms Browne.
The session will run from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm on Saturday 22 March at The Nest, 91 Nolan Street, Maryborough.
