Swing into action at 2025 MDHS Charity Golf Day
The MDHS Charity Golf Day is back on Thursday 27 March inviting golfers and community members to enjoy a fun-filled day while raising funds to strengthen the health of local communities.
This year, the event aims to raise $30,000 to fund vital healthcare services, special projects, scholarships and equipment for Maryborough District Health Service (MDHS).
Hosted in partnership with True Foods and Maryborough Golf Club, the event has raised more than $220,000 since 2014. The funds raised have directly benefited programs such as patient transport, breast cancer screening, aged care improvements and nurse and student training.
MDHS Chief Executive Officer Nickola Allan said the charity event provides a big opportunity for the community to come together in support of local healthcare.
“The MDHS Charity Golf Day is a fantastic way for people to enjoy a great day out while making a real difference to healthcare in our community.
“Every dollar raised helps us invest in essential services, workforce development and cutting-edge equipment to support our growing region,” said Mrs Allan.
Punters can look forward to something new this year with the addition of a Lawn Bowls Challenge offering another way for people to get involved.
The addition was inspired by the committee at Maryborough Bowls Club eager to contribute to the success of the event.
“We’re thrilled to add lawn bowls to this year’s event, said Bonaventure Tai, General Manager, Maryborough Golf and Bowls Club.
“With the bowls green located next to the golf course, it’s an ideal way to involve more community members to come and expand the impact of this fantastic fundraiser,” said Mr Tai.
Local food manufacturer True Foods has been a major partner since 2014, and plays a pivotal role in making the event a success.
Managing Director Jason Baker highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the local community where their manufacturing base is located.
“As a business deeply connected to Maryborough, we are proud to support MDHS with the help of our suppliers and business partners, who keenly support the golf day each year,” said Mr Baker.
“Healthcare is vital to every family in this community, and this event allows us all to contribute in a meaningful way. We encourage everyone to get involved,” he said.
